Breathe Easy and Live Better

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is an essential part of a buildings infrastructure. If not maintained, poor IAQ can lead to a wide variety of health issues such as respiratory issues like asthma and allergies to more serious problems such as chronic bronchitis or other cardiovascular diseases. Because of how most buildings are built, build up of indoor pollutants like dust and mold can further degrade air quality and aggravate health problems. When combined with volatile organic compounds from cleaning materials, poor air quality can range from breathing in dust to breathing in literal toxic waste. By taking steps to improve indoor air quality, buildings can control these pollutants better and ensure better health for those who walk through their doors.

In regular day to day life, good IAQ can increase productivity and comfort. Too often have workers complained about headaches or eye irritation while in the office, and while some of that may be due to work, it can also be caused by poor air quality. Installing a good air quality purifier or filter like an Aircuity indoor environmental quality system can improve the comfort of patrons and visitors ten-fold,  increasing efficiency or just the quality of the visit.

Now, every building needs good air quality, but perhaps the buildings that need them the most are ones where children and the elderly frequent. An example could be retirement homes or community centers such as the Pannell Community Center in Sacramento, California, a popular place for children, youth programs, enrichment classes, and events. The constant hustle and bustle that the Center sees means that it is absolutely necessary to make sure the establishment is as healthy as can be, especially since so many kids are involved. Because of that, the City of Sacramento is issuing a RFP to solicit qualifications and sealed proposals from teams for services necessary to complete the design and installation of an Aircuity indoor environmental quality system. In the case of a wildfire emergency, the installation may prepare Pannell Community Center and allow it to house and act as a clean air refuge for people seeking shelter. In general, the installation will provide improved air-quality year round and help protect the kids and other patrons from the diseases and other afflictions that may arise from poor air quality.
